The Lake Owen Association supported the new ordinance requiring aquatic invasive species decontamination just passed by the Bayfield County Board of Supervisors.  To make decontamination easier for boaters in Lake Owen, the Lake Owen Association is on track to open their aquatic invasive species decontamination station using high temperature water and a pressure sprayer at the north outlet landing in the near future.  Here is a photo of the professional equipment with the Lake Owen Association’s trained operator:

The Lake Owen Association also provides a decontamination sanitizing station using a mild bleach solution at Otter Bay Resort.  Penalties for violating the ordinance range from $50 for a first offense to $1000 for a third and subsequent offenses.
